Some of you may recognize Ginger from her photo shoot HERE. Well, this was actually the first time I got to meet this spunky lady - at Hunting Island Beach! Her family visits the beach pretty often but Ginger was still in the process of figuring out just what all this gritty pale stuff was and why the water tasted so salty. She pretty much stayed clear of the ominous crashing waves but still gave us some great shots full of personality!
Axel + Ledger - Edisto Island, SC Pet Photography
I honestly think I have written this a million times. Like every. single. time. I post about a beach session. I LOVE BEACH SESSIONS!!!! Y’all…the freedom, happiness, and just pure enjoyment that dogs have when their paws hit the sand is like nothing else! Well, maybe when they see snow for the first time - but I digress.

Mickey
Oh Mickey, you're so fine. You're so fine, you blow my mind. Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey! Now that I have that stuck in your head, you won't ever forget this adorable honey named Mickey. As with most older Goldens, Mickey dons the oh-so-precious white heart on his face. It's a pure heart-melter!
At 7 1/2 years old, Mickey is the center of his parent's universe. He is the only pup they have had together. When they saw Mickey's 4-legged father at the breeder, they instantly fell in love and knew they had to have one of his pups. It's been heavenly ever since!
Mickey gets to enjoy the lake view from the deck and dock in his back yard. He prefers not to go all the way in the water so we knew his handsome hair wouldn't get ruined during the session! The one place that Mickey won't dare go is the ramp that goes down to the floating dock. It's super-scary for him as his poor little paws tend to slip and he looses grip. However...during our session...he actually went down the ramp to be near me!!!! He even went back up it all on his own! His parents were amazed! You can see the beginning of the ramp in this image...He makes sure all is well on the water...Mickey's favorite toy in the world is his Bunsie. It has had some surgery to correct a amputated ear but it's still hanging in there! His mom even has a backup Bunsie should anything happen to it.We took off to a local field so Mickey could have some fun one-on-one time with his beloved stuffed friend......and to run... ...and to go for a good roll! :)We finished the evening back on the dock looking over the calm water of Lake Wylie. Mickey wasn't quite done being goofy! Lol!This time, Mickey wasn't so excited about going up and down the ramp. I just HAD to take this picture. Poor Mickey. The scariest thing in the world...
Scooter and Maverick
Scooter and Maverick are a magical pair. They give so much to each other without even trying. Scooter, an 11-year-young Cocker Spaniel, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, has heart issues, and is living with arthritis and some lumps and bumps. He's always been a happy pup but his life got much brighter when his new little brother entered the picture. Maverick, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel still under a year old, was brought home and instantly became Scooter's buddy. They cuddle, play together, and bring so much joy to their parents. Scooter instantly cheered up and even had some of the puppyhood rub off on his aging body.
I introduce Maverick, seen here with his favorite toy antler...
And here is the precious boy, Scooter. His favorite toy is his big ball. :)Maverick loves balls too and is never short of energy to play a game of fetch.I think his big smile is what cheered Scooter up right away!Another one of Scooter's favorite toys...Scooter loves his t-shirt. And, yes, what it says is true! :) These two are so happy in the arms of their parents.Sweet Scooter is certainly the love of their lives. And the best buds...
Maverick is ALWAYS ready to play!Frog legs!!!Scooter looking his most masculine...
I'm so honored to have spent this evening with these two. They are so loved and it was felt throughout the session! <3
Gizmo - The Alien
We are being taken over by aliens!!! No, not the big-headed, green-skinned creatures that are here to kill off mankind. No, this is the funny, big-toothed, scruffy kind that are here to steal our hearts. Yep! And that's exactly what Gizmo is...at least according to his mom. :)
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if aliens this cute took over the earth!
Gizmo's underbite stole the show and he had no problem showing it off for me in Charleston, SC a couple weeks ago!Ears down. Ears up. Which do you prefer? ;)A close up of that funny smile...And here is Gizzy workin' the profile...It was so much fun meeting this little "alien"! Thank you so much for being a part of the Charleston model call. I hope our paths cross again soon...maybe I can visit your planet one day!
Friday
TGIF! Everyone love Friday...especially when it's a dog as handsome and unique as this Blue Merle Catahoula who, by the way, was rescued from Palmetto Paws. I've never photographed a dog that looks anything like Friday so I was beyond thrilled to have him in front of my camera. On a gorgeous day. With fun people. In Charleston. Word.Friday's unique coloring was perfect for the background of old-time Charleston! He honestly looks like he should be a doggy model of some sort!
He really knows how to work his angles...And he has a super-cute, charming smile! :)We stumbled into an alley that had this gorgeous citrus plant. Friday was intrigued and I was excited to photograph him with it. (Look at that cute face!!!)Thank you so much to Friday and his family for coming out and spending some time with us in Charleston. Don't doubt for a minute that I might ring you again to steal Friday for another session!
