Lacy
Lacy's photo shoot was the best kind of Angel Session. She wasn't leaving this Earth. In fact, she was about to go off to her forever home as a service and protection dog. Her mom and trainer of four years wanted to document the love she has for this amazing dog before her very hard goodbye just days after our shoot. That was four years of teaching, practicing, perfecting skills. Oh, and that came with a huge side of compassion and love. And I could see why right away... Mackenzie, Rouge and Scrappy
Mackenzie, Rouge and Scrappy made the trip all the way from Raleigh, NC for their session last month. After dodging rain storms, we were able to pull off their session in what was probably the most humid evening on record. Ha! We explored a big chunk of Fisher Farm where we found some amazing wildflowers, awesome smells, and big land to run through. We were a sweaty mess by the end! This session was scheduled because Mackenzie, the brown and black German Shepherd, is getting a little older and her mom wanted to capture her in all of her beautiful goodness. She brought her sister, Rouge, along as well. She's the black German Shepherd with the name to match her personality. Lol! I love it!
They also brought along their little brother, Scrappy. Now this little guy is a crack up and oh-so-small! He was lost in the tall grasses and got so wet during the shoot. This little firecracker loved every second of it though! The shot on the right just about sums this pack up. Mackenzie is so regal, Rouge is a goofball, and Scrappy is a little silly...Here they look like little angels though. ;)Mackenzie and Rouge loved playing ball in the wide open fields!I can't get over this face! I love little Scrappy! His mom sings to him..."Because I'm Scrappy, Scrappy..." to the tune of Pharrell Williams' "Because I'm Happy." Exploring...I love this shot of the gorgeous Mackenzie...Scrappy was so tired by the end of the shoot. He needed some lovin' from his mom... :)Thank you for such a fun but hot and sweaty shoot! ;) I'm so glad we avoided the rain and were able to squeeze this in! xx!
Thor
I first saw Thor just over a year ago when he came into Lucky Dog for their Halloween contest. He was dressed with Snoopy's dog house on his back and ended up being the winner! Now, just a year later, our paths were to cross again - this time for an amazing session on "his" boat. Our session was set for a sunny afternoon on Lake Norman. A cold front had just moved through so it was the perfect temperature for a shaggy pup like Thor. He nicely invited me onto his boat, properly named "Lucky Dog".
Thor's loves to lounge on the deck of the boat. Kinda like his throne...Thor is a big boy - 120 pounds - so he needed a boat to fit his large stature. He has lots of nooks and crannies to call his own.One of his other favorite places to hang out... Thor was very happy to show me around the dock he keeps his boat. What a handsome fellow...If he can't find his people, he will search up and down the dock until he finds them!Once we got back to dry land, Thor showed me some of his other favorite things. One being his laser, the other being bubbles! And water... Sessions take a lot of hard work from the models. Thor needed to head back to his boat for a quick nap. What a life! :)
Many thanks to Thor and his parents for being so wonderful to work with. I can't wait to see the artwork they choose for their walls!!!
