If you’re visiting this site, you may already know that I’m a pet photographer based in the Phoenix, AZ area. However, did you also know that I travel all over the country for photo shoots? Well I sure do! And you know how I get around? In my lovely home on wheels…a 2016 Roadtrek Zion, a Class B full-size camper van.
Little Kitty
April has been one hard freakin month. I've been sick, I've paid out the wazoo in taxes, and worst of all, I had to say goodbye to one of my cats, Little Kitty. It all happened so quickly and it was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made in my life. I'm still riddled with guilt and I'm hoping time will heal that along with the pain.
The night that she gained her wings, I had a dream... (click the image above to keep reading)
Blog Challenge #2
It's that time of the month again! Blog Challenge time! Woohoo!
This month's blog challenge was based on LIGHT. So, sadly, if you are in the Charlotte area, you know that we haven't had the greatest month as far a lighting goes. It's been rainy, cloudy, icy, and snowy. Oh, and did I mention cold? Yeah. Not the best for going out and taking pictures.
However, I did manage to put together a Wee World for ya. Now, this happened on a trip home from Ikea (surprise!). The clouds were moving out of the city just as...(click the image above to keep reading)
FAQ For Fellow Photogs
So you're a photographer, a hobbyist, or just want to learn about pet photography? Well, I'm glad you are here! I enjoy answering other photographer's questions because I feel that knowledge is only going to make our line of work better for everyone. Unfortunately, sometimes it's hard to answer every email and message individually so I'd love to address some of the most common questions here. So here it goes! If you have any questions for me, feel free...(click the image above to keep reading)
Blog Challenge #1
So before I jump right into the blog-share goodness that is to come, I want to give everyone a quick update on the goings-on over here. It's a little related to what's below but anyway, here I go. The winter is always a little slower in photoland just because of the not-fun temperatures and the generally nasty looking landscape. Boo. That doesn't mean I'm not working behind the scenes! I've been busy with some commercial work, general business stuff (because, sadly, a photography business isn't all about taking pictures), and some other exciting new things...
Home Makeover - Kitchen & Dining
Ok. Ok. Ok. I'm so freakin excited to share our latest renovation with everyone!!!! I know I said this when I shared our guest bedroom reno...this has nothing to do with pet photography. Well, actually, Teton (surprise!!!) is in some of these pictures. He doesn't leave my side. So there. Pet photography! ;)
To give you an idea of the dining room/kitchen space when we moved in...
Mr. Banks
When you get the opportunity to photograph an unbelievably cute and scruffy dog for some large artwork for a vet's office, you jump. Like ASAP. And, man, I tell ya, Mr. Banks didn't disappoint. Here are just a few of the amazingly cute images this superstar knocked out in a matter of about 30 minutes. He didn't waste any time hamming it up!
And the final product? This 30x40 canvas is proudly hanging in the lobby of West Ballantyne Animal Hospital! Stop by to check it out! (Photo Credit: West Ballantyne Animal Hospital)
Wall Art
I love seeing gorgeous artwork on the walls of clients' homes and businesses. One of the most fun parts of the process is the design phase. I use a fun, little program on my iPad that allows me to show my clients what their images will look like on their wall, to scale. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of the decision making. Right now I'm working on a couple statement pieces for the West Ballantyne Animal Hospital. Here's a little preview of some options I sent over. Stay tuned to find out what they decide to go with!!!
