So perhaps one of the advantages of dating a pet photographer is a surprise photo shoot as a Christmas gift!
One afternoon, I snuck away with my boyfriend’s pup, Penelope, for a fun shoot in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. He had NO CLUE we were doing a session behind his back. He thought we were just going on a little hike and having a “girl’s evening.” Haha! He probably wondered why Penelope was soooooo tired when he took her home! Lol!
It’s usually not that easy to do a photo shoot solo with no help from a handler. However, Penelope was a complete DOLL! Her stay and recall were absolutely impeccable and she made this surprise even better than I imagined! Penelope loves to walk around with her ears pinned back and we joke about how she looks scared all the time. With copious amounts of treats and lots of funny noises, I managed to get her cute little ears up in almost every image.
I put together a gorgeous Coffee Table Album to highlight my favorite images of our time together and my boyfriend was absolutely in shock on Christmas morning! Literally brought tears to his eyes!!!! Don’t ever forget how much pets mean to your loved ones and what a special gift a session can be.
